Welcome

Morning All!

I'm Willa, and this is really just an excuse for me to learn more about the history of personal adornment and jewelry. While I could very easily do this on my own, it's far more interesting to share such information with other people, and hopefully this will be of use to more than I. The goal of this blog is to explore different types of jewelry throughout human history, to look at how our views of what is considered beautiful and attractive have changed. It is inevitable that we will not only consider removable forms of jewelry, but also more permanent ones, such as tattoos (as I have a fascination with them).

A little more about me - I've got my BA in Art History, and have long been interested in personal adornment. I play in the Society for Creative Anachronism, and have focused my attentions there towards Viking and associated Northern European cultures. As I research though, I find that I acquire information on two topics - adornment and food. I'm hoping that I can share at least some of what I learn with others.

I hope it will be fun for everyone!
